7 DAYS: Art And The Sacred

7 DAYS is an ongoing installation project that aims to cause us to reflect on the sacred gift of Creation. The work, initially created for COP26 and exhibited in the University of Glasgow’s Memorial Chapel (November 2021) is on-going  and has since been exhibited in several outdoor locations around Britain.

In November 2022, the work was installed in gardens of the Holyrood centre for Pastoral Healing in North Yorkshire , where the artist was able to reflect on her own and other peoples response to and experience of the art in relation to the sacred.

This resulted in the following article for the online journal Transpositions, of the Institute of Theology, Imagination and the Arts, at St. Andrews University. Describing the ‘co-creative’ process of the 7 DAYS installation, Carol Marples considers how the natural environment can shape our experience of art, creation and the sacred.
